things

i’ve been keeping myself really busy with things/stuff, most of which entails spending as much time as i possibly can out of the house.  but today it began snowing really heavily, so i had to cancel my plans…thus, i am home.  mom, the only other person i live with, is away on a vacation.  when i’m done writing this i am definitely going to call someone because it feels really strange not hearing human voices around me.

musically, things could use improvement. as a second semester senior, my efforts (or lack thereof), have been geared towards spending my free time partying rather than writing. hey, i’m not complaining.  i’m going to be seventeen in a few months, i have a whole lot of really great friends, and this is the best time of my life. if any writing gets done, it’s typically during class, because i’m blessed with an ability to hear entire songs in my head and script them without the use of an instrument.

over the next few months, i’ll be recording my first official full-length with producer nick zinnanti (he recorded for stereo skyline, set in color, gabriel the marine, his own band life between sleep, and maaaaany others), which we’re both pumped to do. nick’s a really generous guy and is doing a lot to support both me and girl saves world.

oh right, i forgot to tell you about girl saves world! it’s the charity i’m starting that is funded by my music. basically, 90% of what i make with music (from now through my entire career) goes to girl saves world, and 10% goes to my actual income so i can live/eat. the only issue is, i’m starting from absolutely NOTHING. luckily, i’ve scored a lawyer that’s doing the paperwork for me without a charge (it’s almost scary how many weeks of phone calls i had to make to find someone like that), but the problem is, i can’t escape forking over a thousand dollars to the IRS to secure tax-exempt status and a 5013C. like, the IRS makes a profit off of people starting non-profit organizations…what the heck? between funding recording so i can actually release music to get this thing started and funding the IRS so i can have something to GET started, i’m going to have to do a looooot of personal fundraising/playing on the street.  even though i’m all gung-ho about getting the show on the road (pun completely intended) i know i just have to be patient and realize that everything about this process takes time.

if you wanna check out the girl saves world website, you can go to www.girlsavesworld.org and click around the site a little.  i suck at graphic design so bear with me until i can figure out how to make it pretty :)

that’s all, i think.  peace you guys!

ps.  if you can’t find my music facebook page, it’s because i deleted my personal facebook, which was the admin to the music one.  i might reactivate my page when i get into college.
